Five people are dead and a suspect is still on the loose today after a shooting shortly after 7 p.m. Friday at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, 60 miles north of Seattle.

Authorities said the gunman killed four women when he opened fire in the makeup department of a Macy's store in the mall. A man who was wounded during the shooting died early today, The Associated Press reported.

Police were searching for a man wearing a black T-shirt and armed with what they described as a "hunting-type" rifle. He was last seen walking toward Interstate 5. Given Kutz, a spokesman for the Skagit County Emergency Operations Center, said witness described the suspect as Hispanic.
