Prosser Fire Burns A Little Too Close To Home [PHOTOS]

The Horse Heaven Hills were aflame Sunday night -- just beyond my backyard on Byron Road in Prosser. My wife shot some photos of the out-of-control wildfire. I'm a Washington native, and I've always lived near a few fires but never have I seen a fire this close up. 

We lost power about 8 p.m., but that's all I had to deal with. My neighbors on the mountain had a lot more to handle and a big-thank you needs to go out the brave firefighters and citizens who responded to this fire.

I'm hoping things will get cleaned up quickly and that families will be able to return to their homes soon.

As I came to work this morning, I could still smell the smoky air of a disaster avoided.
