Traditional country artist Shane Owens is rewinding time in the music video for his new track, “Country Never Goes Out of Style,” by featuring country legend Randy Travis in the clip.

“This new song means so much to me,” Owens explains in a press release. “It really talks about the way I was raised and the way I live my life today, so it means so much to have Randy join me in the video and talk about my music in that way. It was truly an honor."

The video for "Country Never Goes Out of Style" is just about every bit as country as you can get. It covers all of the country bases by featuring everything from John Deere ball caps, to worn-in country boots and smoky honky tonks with couples two-stepping. Shots cut between scenes of front porch swings, country bars and family-friendly bonfires. Owens is shown singing in both a church and a recording studio, praising the life of a good ol' country boy

“It may be old fashioned, but it don’t get old / Life’s a little smoother down a gravel road,” the lyrics state. “Let the whole world keep on changing / I’ll just be a-hanging outside of town a couple of miles / ‘Cause country never goes out of style.”

This video acts as Travis' first music video appearance since he suffered from a stroke in 2013. He is shown nodding along to the lyrics, and raises his fist in a sign of approval at the end of the song. So it's only fitting he is showcased in a place where he is pretty comfortable: the recording studio.

“Shane brings it all...vocal, writing, performance and passion," Travis shares. "He has paid his dues, remained committed to traditional country and brings you a song with a heart and a story. To Shane, I gladly pass the baton.”

"Country Never Goes Out of Style" previews Owens’ debut album Where I’m Comin’ From.
