Rat-atouille on That? Diner Finds Dead Mouse in His Sandwich

Matt Jones, who was eating at a Subway in Lincoln City, Ore., earlier this month, clearly didn't order a dead mouse -- but he got one anyway.

"It's the funniest thing I've ever seen, but it's also the most disgusting," Jones told Portland's KGW television station.

OregonLive (which also carried a photo of the sandwich) reports that Jones ordered his meal, picked up his drink and then discovered the unwanted ingredient.

"I laughed because I was like, 'There is no way this just happened,' " he said.

Subway said in a statement that Jones got a full refund and that the company has launched an investigation into how the mouse could've ended up in his sandwich.

"To be cautious," the statement read, "all of the products in the sandwich unit were disposed of and a thorough cleaning took place, in which the Health Department gave the restaurant a clean bill of health. There no other complaints made."
