One of the best parts of getting out of the office to go to an event like last weekend's Watershed Music Festival at the Gorge is getting a chance to catch up with people you know but rarely see -- it's hard to overstate the value of face-to-face communication.

So when Rik and I ran into our pal Fitz, from Seattle's 100.7 The Wolf, we had the chance to talk shop and have an honest conversation about the business. It was a good time for a frank and open discussion about how our stations are doing -- and for offering some constructive criticism of one another's performances and approach.

It might seem a little technical, but it's great to get all this stuff out in the open.
