Sam Hunt only revealed his engagement to Hannah Lee Fowler in early January, but during the Universal Music Group luncheon at the 2017 Country Radio Seminar on Thursday (Feb. 23), Hunt shared that the two will be tying the knot sooner rather than later.

"I'm getting married in a couple months," Hunt told the crowd of radio programmers and media members at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, earning a loud round of applause. The singer didn't share any additional details about his upcoming nuptials, though he added that "between planning a wedding and keeping my fiancee smiling, I'm gonna try to kick up some new music for y'all."

During the UMG lunch, an annual CRS event, Hunt performed his newest single, "Body Like a Back Road;" readers can press play above to see a snippet of the performance. Hunt wrote the track with Zach Crowell (who also produced it), Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally following his and Fowler's engagement. He says that the song helped “lighten up” what was shaping up to be a “heavy” sophomore album.

Hunt released his debut album, Montevallo, in 2014. On Jan. 1, just after midnight, he dropped an unreleased tune, “Drinkin’ Too Much,” that shares his feelings about his on-again-off-again relationship with Fowler, and how his fame has affected her.

“As I write these songs, I don’t want to sit on them for as long as it takes me to finish a record before I put them out,” Hunt notes, “so I’m just going to try to put them out as I write them and finish them. As quick as I can get them done, I’ll be shooting them out.”

“Body Like a Back Road” is available for download on iTunes. Hunt will headline the 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival in June; he also has plans for a full summertime tour, the 2017 15 in a 30 Tour.
