Sam Hunt performed "Make You Miss Me" at the 2016 ACM Awards. The song is from his 2014 album, Montevallo.

Hunt sang the song while playing the piano, although he admits that isn't his best instrument.

“I’m not really a piano player, but I play enough to get away with it," he confessed to Taste of Country.

Clad in all white, complete with a white hat while playing a white grand piano while lights flashed around him. The song, which seemed part country, part jazz, let Hunt's voice shine through, without anything to distract from him.

Hunt was also nominated for Album of the Year, for Montevallo, and Single Record of the Year, for "Take Your Time." Those awards went to Chris Stapleton, for Traveller, and Thomas Rhett for "Die a Happy Man," respectively.

Hunt certainly isn't a stranger to performing during a televised awards ceremony. He sang alongside Carrie Underwood at the 2016 Grammy Awards, performing both "Take Your Time," along with her single, "Heartbeat," which features Hunt on background vocals, from her Storyteller album. Still, the 31-year-old admits singing on live TV makes him a bit nervous.

“I try not to think about the fact that it’s on TV,” he tells Taste of Country. “When you think about how many people are actually watching, that can kind of mess with your head a little bit.”

Hunt is spending much of the next few months on the road, including a performance at the Tortuga Music Festival in Florida later this month. A list of all of his upcoming shows is available on his website.
