Yakima put Downtown Summer Nights to bed for another year Thursday night, but not before savoring one of the most memorable shows of the 2016 season.

As the sun set on the final show of this summer's concert series, a packed North Front Street sang along, danced and toasted as Yakima native Zach Hinson and his band, plus Portland's Redwood Son (with a little help from Yakima's Ty Paxton) wrapped it up right. The two bands fried up some country, Americana and rock that seemed to hit the spot for the partying crowd.

The event has grown in popularity in each of its four year years, and this season broke all records for attendance, organizers say. With the support of event sponsor Stewart Subaru the city of Yakima, stage sponsor Legends Casinothe Memorial Family of Services (which provides a welcome cooling station), US Cellular (which supplies a free cellphone charging station), and Yakima Neighborhood Health (which offers a free space with hands-on activities just for kids), Downtown Summer Nights has become a regular Thursday date.

Mark it on your calendar for next summer!

Meantime, the photos above take one last look at the final show, and the video below records Zach Hinson's opening number.
