School Expels Girl For Shaving Her Head In Support Of Her Friend With Cancer

A school in Colorado expelled 9-year-old Kamryn Renfro for shaving her head in support of of her 11-year-old friend Delaney Clements, who has neuroblastoma and is going through chemotherapy.

The school said in a statement that its policy is intended to, "promote safety, uniformity, and a non-distracting environment for the school students," and that as such, shaved heads are not allowed.

The school board held a special meeting to address the situation and make an exception for Kamryn.

The board voted 3-1 to allow Kamryn back in school.
