Seahawks Extend GM Schneider’s Contract
The main architect of Seattle’s 2012 success was signed to a contract extension a year ago, according to an ESPN report.
Schneider’s deal will go through the 2016 season. ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando said that the deal was done “without fanfare” over a year ago.
Schneider joined the Seahawks in 2010, just a week after the franchise hired head coach Pete Carroll. Schneider had been in the front office of the Green Bay Packers.
When he came to Seattle, Schneider overhauled the Seahawks roster, making over 780 personnel moves in his first two years. His direction paid off in 2012, when the team went 11-5 and came within 30 seconds of the NFC Championship game.
Sando also wrote that Coach Pete Carroll could see a contract extension soon.
