Shania Twain kicked off her "Rock this Country" tour at KeyArena over the weekend after spending three days in Seattle rehearsing for the first of many dates on her nationwide tour. "I love Seattle," she said during Saturday's concert. "We've been enjoying the food and shopping." And Shania added that she "did some damage" when it came to shopping in the Emerald City.

Fellow Canadian Wes Mack opened the show and even did a version of "Uptown Funk." Shania brought him back to the stage for her timeless duet "From This Moment On" -- a memory I'm sure that will last him a lifetime. Outside of that all eyes were on a feisty (and newly blond) Shania Twain and a set that looked like it was shipped up from Vegas.

Laser lights, fog and a giant HD backdrop. She also jumped on a blinged-out black and red saddle that flew high above the arena during the the song "Up!" She had enough pyro that you could feel the heat from 100 feet away. I imagine her band felt like marshmallows over a fire. Some of the graphics and lights made it seem like you were tripping out on illicit drugs.

The show was worth every penny, and in case you missed her, she will be back in the Northwest this September for recently added shows in Spokane and Portland.

Rolling Stone wrote a piece with some minor critiques that the average concert goer wouldn't notice, and I will tell you from being in the crowd for the entire show that most fans were mesmerized by the huge set and sexy style of Shania. Everyone was dancing and singing along and not worried about her opening night slip-ups.

Shania almost teared up by the overwhelming response from the crowd, she even opened up about losing her confidence and not being sure of herself. She then played the song she wrote when she was feeling down -- "Today is Your Day."

Overall Shania hasn't missed a beat. She has a Rolodex full of hits that everyone loved singing along to, and a sold-out arena that confirmed her massive popularity. The encore was "Man, I Feel Like a Woman," which sent the crowd home happy.
