Country singer Sherry Lynn is asking for prayers, as her son Henry remains in critical condition after a bad car accident.

Lynn shared that emergency surgeries have already been performed with more to come in the coming days. "Alll (sic) of the prayer warriors on here I could really use all you've got today," Lynn writes on Facebook. Hundreds of friends and contemporaries responded, including county legend Crystal Gayle who worked with Lynn on a song called "Beautiful Life."

"Our prayers and love are going out to Sherry Lynn, my friend and duet partner on 'Beautiful Life,'" Gayle writes. "Sherry's son was seriously injured in a car accident last night. Please keep Sherry and her family in your prayers."

Harry Mecouch is a 22 or 23-year-old at Rutgers-Camden Arts and Sciences, according to his Facebook profile. He lives in Sewell, N.J. Lynn is also from New Jersey and travels back and forth to Nashville often to record new music. A Grand Ole Opry performance with Gayle in 2013 is a career highlight for the singer. Her most recent album is the A Beautiful Life album, although she also released an album called It's a Woman Thing in 2013. She most recently appeared at the CMA Festival in 2015. At her official Facebook page she as admittedly done a poor job of keeping fans up to date on her career, as she's been busy with family and recording music.

The accident appears to have happened late Monday night or early Tuesday morning (Aug. 1). Lynn shared the news with her friends and family on Facebook early Tuesday afternoon.
