If you live in Seattle, you're probably annoyed that the cost of soda (or "pop" as some of us like to call it) is about to go up!

Thanks to a city council vote earlier this year, the "Emerald City," as Seattle is affectionately known, will add a nearly 2-cent tax for every fluid ounce of carbonated soda drinks that are purchased beginning Jan. 1, 2018. This won't just affect drinks you might buy at the local grocery or convenience store. If you buy any alcoholic beverages with soda ingredients, this will impact the price for your drinks at the bar or restaurants! Boooo!

Whether Yakima decides to vote on implementing this new tax designed to lower obesity and diabetes rates remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, the cost of "pop" is about to go up in Sea-Town!
