What if your boss could discipline you -- possibly even fire you -- for putting on a few pounds?

Well, if you're a cocktail server in New Jersey, that question's been answered for you.

An appeals court there has upheld a ruling allowing an Atlantic City casino to enforce strict weight and beauty standards for its cocktail servers. According to the Press of Atlantic city, the three-judge panel found in favor of the Borgata casino, which had argued that the 21 servers who sued their employer back in 2008 knew what they were getting into when they signed on as "Borgata Babes."

Among other things, the casino's rules say that servers cannot gain more than 7 percent of their body weight at the time of their hiring.

The plaintiffs argued that the rules were unreasonable -- and that they weren't the same for female servers and male servers. At the time of the original suit, female servers outnumbered males 646 to 46.

So what do you think -- did the court get it right?
