A tragic car accident in Toppenish over the weekend has left two dead and a family in mourning. Kyle and Angela Walker of Toppenish were killed early Sunday morning on State Route 22 when their 2014 Chevy Impala was hit by a car driven by Leticia Gasca Esquivel of Wapato
This morning The Morning Bull Pen interviewed Matt Thomas from the group Parmalee, which will be at the Watershed Music Festival in the Gorge Amphitheatre next weekend and at the Central Washington State Fair on Sept. 25.
I wanted to spice up the interview and play a little game with Matt.
We played "60 seconds" with Paramlee. I asked rapid fire questions with quick answers from Matt.
I received a tweet last night from my son Mathew saying, "I was interviewed by King 5 today. I'll be on the news tonight. I think I did ok."
Mathew -- who just graduated from high school in June -- is working at the University of Washington on a summer research project. He works in the lab at the University of Washington Clean Energy Institute helping to develop cheaper solar technology.
Husband vs. wife in the case of social media etiquette during a difficult time in the relationship.
The wife complains that her husband, who is close to filing for divorce, is acting out on Facebook by posting things about how non-married people are always happy. The wife comments back with a snarky remark about how they can make that happen with a little paperwork. The husband says his post was innocent and she's making an issue out of an innocent Facebook post.
What do you think? Who should win this case, the husband or the wife?
I can't say that I've actually done this, but 1 in 10 women have called in sick because they were having a bad hair day. I'm definitely a hair and makeup kinda girl. And there are days when my hair has a mind of its own, but I certainly don't let it keep me from living life.
Parmalee has two dates in Central Washington this year at two different venues.
The first is one of the hottest music festivals in the country, Watershed. The July 31-Aug. 2 gathering at the Gorge Amphitheatre features some of the hottest acts on the scene today. The second is our very own Central Washington State Fair, coming up Sept. 25 in Yakima.
The country music community is reeling after this week's news that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have split up.
I've been through a divorce and I can tell you firsthand it's one of the worst things you will ever go through. There is light at the end of the tunnel as Shelton said in "Neon Light," but it takes quite a while to heal.
So from one friend to another, I've compiled a list of the top five songs for Blake and Miranda to listen as they pass this difficult time.
