Student Vintners Wins Awards and Wine Not!

One of the Yakima Valley's Best Kept Secret might not be so well kept! The Winner of two awards at the 2011 Seattle Wine Competition is....

Yakima Valley Vintners, Yakima Valley Community College’s teaching winery, winning big and received gold medals for their 2008 Graduates Last Hyrah Syrah and 2009 Primitivo. The wines were judged by a 15-person tasting panel of prominent wine professionals.

Both of Yakima Valley Vintner's award winning wines were made by students completing course work in the school’s Vineyard & Winery Technology program at YVCC. The wines are marketed through the program at YVCC's Grandview Campus, which houses a winery facility and tasting room. Make a visit to do some tasting!
