A situation at Sunnyside High School has caused a precautionary lock down and the students and staff are in shelter-in-place mode as police investigate a threat. According to KIMA, the Sunnyside School District announced the lock down at about 12:22 p.m. when a written threat was discovered. All students and staff were instructed to stay inside " locked classrooms and all outside doors are locked to ensure no one goes in or out of the school."

Police are onsite and are investigating the threat alongside school administrators. The school posted the following to their website:

In response to the discovery of a threat at Sunnyside High School, the school has gone into a precautionary lock-down/shelter-in-place as police and district administrators continue to investigate. Additional police are currently on-site.

Lock-down/shelter-in-place means all outside doors will be locked, no one will be allowed in or out of the school, and students and staff will remain in locked classrooms at all times.
