From the start, Carrie Underwood was never shy about her personal beliefs, especially when releasing her single, ‘Jesus Take the Wheel’ in the early part of her career. The song went on to become a powerful smash in country music, landing the ‘American Idol’ winner her first chart-topping hit.
With a wall of mechanical fans blowing hair all across her face, Carrie Underwood performed the title track from her new ‘Blown Away’ album at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. The country singer’s performance lacked the luminaries, exotic dancers and costumes many of the previous artists employed, but it lacked nothing in talent. She was as vocally strong as she’s ever been during a televised performance.
In addition to releasing her highly-anticipated studio album ‘Blown Away’ on Tuesday, Carrie Underwood announced a whopping 57 scheduled shows on her upcoming 2012 Blown Away Tour. Hunter Hayes will open dates across the country and Canada, with $1 from each ticket sold at North America shows benefiting Red Cross disaster relief.
She was one of the last holdouts on the 140-character social networking site, but even though Carrie Underwood finally joined Twitter about a month ago, she admits she’s still a little hesitant about it. From the moment she first tweeted “Hello Twitter World!” on Feb. 24, Underwood has used the site primarily to talk about the progress of her upcoming album ‘Blown Away,’ her most recent single ‘Good Girl,’ her surprise ’80s birthday party and the occasional post featuring her dogs or hockey playing husband Mike Fisher. But the songstress says the Twitterverse is not a place where she’s going to get too personal.
Carrie Underwood recently covered SELF magazine for the fourth time, and in her interview the beautiful country starlet opened up about some of her secrets for staying healthy and happy, as well as revealing that she’s still starry-eyed for hockey playing husband Mike Fisher. Though Underwood admits there are things the two are still learning — her “conservative” husband occasionally asks her if she thinks her dress might be a bit short — Underwood seems more than happy to consider her husband when selecting her wardrobe.
There’s two sides to every story and to country superstar Carrie Underwood. In the video for her brand new single ‘Good Girl,’ Underwood plays the role of the good, wholesome girl as well as that of the rebel. The one thing that unites the two sides of her personality and the parts she plays? A deep, unwavering love of gorgeous, dangerously high and infinitely stylish heels. What gal doesn’t love a pair of fab shoes?
