A typical trip to the pet store yesterday to purchase cat food lead to the discovery of an interesting pet that I haven't seen before. It's called a "skinny pig." I think the little guy looks like a miniature hippo. Upon further investigation on the internet, I found that the skinny pig is part of the guinea pig family...

After 24 years the Junior League of Yakima and the Yakima Greenway have announced the end of a Case of the Blues summer music festival. The event -- which drew some of the Northwest's biggest artists to Sarg Hubbard Park but which required a lot of time and effort from volunteers from the Junior League and Yakima Greenway -- has seen attendance drop in recent years.
