Taylor Swift keeps in touch with friends she's known her whole life, even though she’s become one of the biggest stars on the planet. The singer even recently took on the role of Maid of Honor at childhood friend Brittany Maack’s wedding, and now the video commemorating the day has been released with a clip of Swift’s heartfelt toast to the bride.

The girls grew up together — as did Maack and her now-husband Ben LaManna — so Swift’s speech highlighted the epic quality of their story of finding each other over the years.

“He would chase her and pursue her through middle school and junior high and high school, and their paths would diverge and then come back together,” Swift muses in the clip, her romantic songwriting skills clearly at play in the writing of her toast. “And it would be so magically unpredictable but at the same time so incredibly fated, just like the best love stories are."

Swift had posted photos on Instagram after the wedding, one of her and Maack as young kids, and one from the big day. The clip from her speech starts at around the 6:30 mark in the video above.

The artist has been off the road after wrapping her 1989 World Tour, but recently opened the Grammys with her tune “Out of the Woods.” She took home Album of the Year for 1989, marking the first time a female artist has won the award twice.
