The Summer Kickoff Party is Saturday For Downtown Yakima

Starting to feel like Hot Fun In The Summertime in the Yakima Valley!

Committee for Downtown Yakima officials saw it as a way that they could continue throwing a party that celebrates summer in the Yakima Valley. There's more to celebrate in Yakima this time of year than there is in the winter. It's harvest time, it's time for the kids to go to Franklin Pool, it's time for the Yakima Bears to start playing and the Yakima Farmers Market to take over Third Street each Sunday says interim Executive Director Jamie Lee Stickel of The Committee for Downtown Yakima.

"We want to make it something you can bring a 2-year-old to -- or a 20-year-old, or an 80-year-old -- knowing you're going to all enjoy it," Stickel says.
