Production on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell, maybe) is gearing up, which means we’re going to start hearing some casting announcements — like this one, which should make geeky fans pretty stoked: Arrow star Stephen Amell has just joined the cast of the upcoming sequel, playing the one and only Casey Jones.

Variety reports that Amell has joined the cast of the sequel, in which he’ll play fan favorite character Casey Jones — a hockey player who puts his skills to use helping the Turtles in their heroic endeavors, and who eventually becomes a love interest for April O’Neil. Jones was famously played by Elias Koteas in the 1990 live-action film. According to the report, Amell was among a handful of actors who tested for the role, and eventually won out thanks to his chemistry with Megan Fox.

Amell joins a cast that currently includes Fox, Will Arnett and William Fichtner, all reprising their roles from the first film. No other returning cast members have been announced as of yet. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will return to produce the sequel, which is being helmed by Earth to Echo director David Green.

Over the weekend, Los Angeles Clippers player J.J. Redick appeared on a Grantland podcast, in which he revealed that he has a small part in the upcoming sequel, which he referred to as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell. That title is not yet confirmed.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
