Chevel Shepherd was crowned winner of Season 15 of The Voice on Tuesday night (Dec. 18), and in watching her standout duet with Dan + Shay, it's easy to see why.

The 16-year-old from New Mexico held her own beside the country duo as they sang their latest No. 1 song, "Speechless."

The three artists took center-stage during The Voice's 2018 Live Finale, and Shepherd effortlessly harmonized with the duo, as well as shared lead vocals with Shay Mooney. They traded verses, and she was a natural, standing in a floor-length gown between two of country's hottest voices in suits.

Despite their star status, it was Shepherd's time to shine and she did, her voice soaring through the piano ballad.

Shepherd's Season 15 victory marks coach Kelly Clarkson's second win as a coach. Season 14's champion was Clarkson's Brynn Cartelli, who, at 15, set a record as the youngest winner of the series to date. Shepherd is 16.

In an interview with USA Today following her win, coach Clarkson was emotional. Praising Shepherd's finale performance of "Broken Hearts" the night before, she gushed on her contestant.

"She made it just pure country and it's beautiful. I was listening to her last night and I was like, 'I remember ... when I was like her. You just remember that point of your life,'" she told USA Today, tearing up. "I'm so glad this isn't on video. I'm always caught crying. ... My makeup artist hates me."
