Have you noticed something different when downloading or purchasing a new album?

That new album that used to be available on Tuesday isn't there until Friday.

The change started July 10 after more than 25 years of Tuesday being the release day for new music.

In 1989 the music industry made Tuesday the day that retailers could sell new music, but that was only in America. Other countries release new music on different days -- Mondays in the U.K and Canada, Fridays in Australia and Germany.

Basically, your friend in Britain could get the album on Monday, then share it with her friend in Australia before it's even released there.

"New Music Fridays" is the nickname for the global release schedule.

Do you agree on the new music release date?
