The other day my daughter Shaylee was sitting at the counter working on the clay figures that she makes almost daily when she asked me, "Mom, can we go see the musical 'Hamilton?'"

I was shocked that she even knew about the musical. I asked her, "How do you know about the musical 'Hamilton?'"

She told me that she had been watching videos from the musical on YouTube. She then went on to tell me all about Alexander Hamilton. About how his dad left him and his mom died when was 13 years old, how he created our money system and that he was shot in a duel with our third vice president, Aaron Burr. I just stood there in disbelief that she had retained all this from the musical she had been watching on YouTube.

I felt bad when I had to tell her that the musical is in New York City and even if we could go that tickets are in super-high demand, selling for $800-plus per ticket.

But there may be a way ...

A few days later, Rik mentioned that his friend had posted on her Facebook page that "Hamilton" was gonna be in Utah. That meant one thing: a tour. So, fingers crossed that they would land somewhere near us, I Googled it. Jackpot!! They will be rolling into Seattle at the Paramount during the 2017-18 season.

Thankfully, the tickets haven't gone on sale yet, but the next hurdle will be trying to make sure we get them when they do.
