While most grown-ups long for the days when they could take spring break, kids usually seem to get bored. But how do you keep them busy so they don't get into trouble?I have a 25-year-old daughter who keeps herself very busy these days, but when she was a kid she was always bored. I also have two stepkids -- a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old and they are always bored.

But now that it is spring break, the boredom is even worse. On Sunday the 10-year-old and 14-year-old where saying how bored they were. Well, that might have been the wrong thing to say to me, especially since there is a ton of stuff that needs to be done around the house.

The first thing that I had them do was help me carry the landscaping rock over to where I am using it. Second, they pulled weeds. I have more than two acres of weeds, and that kept them busy for about three hours.

By the time they were done, they were tired and telling me they would never say they're bored again.

However, I saw how well they did, so now this is something that they are going to do all of the time! I will keep them busy and teach them how to be responsible and strong all at the same time!

Keeping them busy doesn't always have to be work and stuff that is hard, though. Today I bought my kids paint. They are going to paint some of the larger rocks they carried to make them look like a giant worm in my garden. Once they have finished, they will see all their hard work has paid off and we will have a fantastic garden! BOOM!
