A Comic Convention is Hoping to Open in Yakima This Fall — You Can Help!

Comic book conventions are popping up left and right. What was once known as a geek- and nerd-fest are now filled with the elite of Hollywood showcasing the latest in movies, TV shows, video games and so much more! We already have Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle and Rose City Comic Con in Portland, but we think we could have one in Yakima, too. Here's how you can help make this dream a reality.

There's a brainstorming session and anyone is welcome to give info and insight on what they'd like in a local comic convention.

I'm a huge fan of something like this coming to Yakima. Most fan conventions, whether it's an anime convention, comic convention, Star Trek convention, video game convention -- they're all about meeting people with common interests. I've made so many friends by attending conventions like these. I would love to have something like this in our town.

Backers of the idea are hoping to have one in place by this fall. I think we can make this happen.
