"I thank God today was not his last day, as I do not think I would make it. I never felt such fear in my life when I got the call on this and I am still shook." That's what Jack Baugher said in a Facebook post after he found out his son, Hunter, was hit by a vehicle near the crosswalk by the Olive Garden at N 3rd Street and East Yakima Avenue around 6 p.m., January 23. The Facebook post also included a photo of Hunter's injuries, saying he was sent " flying in the air, hurt his leg, side and cut his head real bad leaving him bleeding everywhere."

According to KIMA, witnesses describe the vehicle "as an SUV with a brownish color." The Yakima Police Department is investigating the incident as a hit-and-run; but Hunter's father is taking the matter into his own hands. Baugher is offering $5,000 for information that would lead to the arrest of the driver. If you have any info, please contact Officer J. Yates with they YPD at 575-6246.
