Yakima Police Program Helps Kids

The Yakima Police Activities League is helping students with much more than just staying in shape.

It's so awesome to see so many community organizations here in Yakima. One of them, the Yakima Police Activities League, is specifically dedicated to local kids

YPAL offers a ton of programs including: a wrestling program, art classes, tutoring, boxing, even movie nights. Organizers say the league, founded in 2003, is a juvenile prevention program that helps kids in the community stay out of trouble. Some parents, however, say the program has had even wider effects on their lives.
