3 Businesses that Need to Movie Into the Old Sears Location
At one time Sears was a staple department store in most towns. Not too many places you can shop to purchase new shoes, back-to-school clothing, a lawn mower, a new suit, bed sheets, a birthday gift and perfume all on the same receipt. Over the years they have shut down more and more stores with our Sears in Yakima standing strong for so many years. Now that it's empty outside of a 'coming soon' sign hanging behind the cage, I'm curious to know what's going to go in that location.
Even if they already have an idea, here is a list of businesses I'd love to see go into Valley Mall at the old Sears.
Dave and Busters
To me, Dave and Busters makes the most sense. It's definitely big enough to accommodate the large eating area as well as the arcade. Dave and Busters would do very well in Yakima and would love to see this happen.
We Play
They have one of these at the Spokane Valley Mall (no relation to our Valley Mall). It's a giant play area for kids where you pay to get in and let the kids and toddlers have fun all day. Great place to host birthday parties or just to have you relax while the kids burn off some steam.
Nordstrom
That's right, replacing one department store with another department store. We used to have a Nordstrom which was always hoppin' and poppin', especially during the holidays. They have a Nordstrom at Southcenter Mall in Tukwilla (south of Seattle) so why not? I mean, Southcenter also still has a Sears, but still.
You can add more if you wish but that's a good start. We'll see what goes in that spot soon enough, hopefully.
