Are the New ‘Buffalo Chicken Sandwich’ Chips Any Good?
Potato chips are one of those snack foods that I don't eat often but, when I do, it's all I eat until the entire bag is gone.
I was at a gas station on my way to work this morning when I spotted these Buffalo Chicken Sandwich flavored baked Lay's potato chips. I knew I had to try them.
Lay's has a few new flavors on the market right now. These as well as a cuban sandwich flavor and BLT flavor. I'm curious to try both but this gas station didn't have those so I'll try those later. I was happy to see these as I was curious to try them.
To be clear, I do like a spicy chicken sandwich and after the chaos of the chicken sandwich craze a couple years ago, fun to see these are now a flavor of potato chip. Sure, it may be a few years too late but still just as good.
It's also fortunate that I enjoy the baked Lay's chips so happy that they opted for this style for this flavor.
The chips themselves are dusted with a bright orange flavor much like you may see with the chicken sandwich itself.
Verdict: Not bad at all!
It does have a bit of that buffalo flavoring zing without it being too spicy. In fact, these could have been a little more spicy. The chicken sandwich often has cheese and pickles as well. Though I didn't notice these being 'cheesy', myself, there was a hint of that pickle flavoring that was welcome to me.
I'm looking forward to trying the others when I see them. I'll let you know how those go.
If you're wondering, I found these at the corner gas station on the corner of 48th and Tieton.
