Washington state company home of the famous Aplets & Cotlets among other confectionaries is closing its doors in June.

This is terrible news for all here in the Northwest. Cashmere was home to Liberty Orchards and employed family and more in that area. There are even streets in Cashmere named of their signature treat.

Though the pandemic didn't help, the family has been trying to sell the business for the past few years but without a buyer they're planning on making June 1 their final day as they told Wenatchee World. A sad day indeed.

There was even talks of having Aplets & Cotlets being the official state treat but that never came to fruition.

Liberty Orchards' website is still active in the meantime. Not sure the shelf-life of these treats but might be worth to grab a box or five while you still can.
