The entire Yakima Valley is no stranger to great burger spots. Many places have been here for decades and some established themselves as being great in only a short time. The Yakima Valley seems to be a fan of burgers of all types but some just stand out. One of them being the Giant Papa Burger from Dad's Family Restaurant in Toppenish.

This is one dense beast.

I grabbed this to go and when they handed me the to-go paper sack I thought the gravity of it all was going to rip right through the bag. This beast had to way at least a pound.

What makes it fantastic? Well, some might attribute the fact that they make things fresh when you walk in but, to me, it's not only the perfectly seasoned beef patties or the fresh veggies on it but that thick slab of ham.

This is not your usual 'sandwich slice' ham that some places use in their sandwiches, but like a ham steak. This is breakfast ham and they don't skimp on it.

To some, it may be odd to see so much in a cheeseburger but once you sink your teeth into it, you'll know it's the perfect compliment to what it already a great burger. It just adds that extra something to it to put it over the edge and make it stand out on the menu.

There are other amazing burgers on the menu at Dad's in Toppenish but if I'm ordering anything other than my usual finger steaks (yeah, I love those, too) I'm grabbing this Giant Papa Burger.
