Escape To These Charming Hidden Gem Beaches a Day Trip from Yakima
In the immortal words of Nicki Minaj: "Let's go to the beach-each."
It not be as easy for most but heading to the beach for a few days or even a quick weekend might sound like a fun idea.

Whether it's to relax or looking for a change of scenery, going the beach to see the ocean unframed, hearing the sounds of the waves, feeling the mist on your face in the Northwest or if you enjoy quant little beachside towns, here are a few options that you can drive to from Yakima and be there in an average of 4.5 hours (some more, some less).

Sure, we know about Ocean Shores, WA, Long Beach, WA, Seaside, OR, and Astoria, OR, but what about some other unique places along the way?
What are some great beaches in Washington that might be worth visiting
Westport
Just far enough away to shoot away more tourists who prefer Ocean Shores and I'm cool with it. Has a nice boardwalk with a few beach things like kites and ice cream. Not sure you need much more than that as it is.
Grayland
This was a place we went to often as a kid as it was inexpensive and had pretty much all we needed. No fancy shops or anything, just a hotel or two and access to the stand and ocean. I have a lot of fond memories visiting Grayland growing up.

Tokeland
Now it's just south of Grayland you'll find Tokeland. Best thing about this place is it has what many consider the most haunted hotel in all of Washington State. If you're into the macabre, might be worth checking out.
What are some great beaches in Oregon that aren't far from Washington?
Rockaway Beach
This is my personal favorite beach in the entire planet. Yes, more than Seaside. I love the stretch of stores and access to the sand and ocean. The beaches are clean, relatively speaking (so long as people clean up after themselves after a fire) and love that they have all the fun shops along the way. The best clam chowder I've ever had was at Old Oregon Smokehouse located in Rockaway Beach.
Gearhart
Gearhart is great because they allow 4-wheel drive vehicles on the beach with easy beach access. This is nice if you have a member of the family who find it hard to get out to the beach near the water. You can just drive up.
Netarts
This is the beach you'd access if you went to Tillamook. I do recommend visiting Tillamook as well, Netarts is great as it has a cave you can visit. Not a deep cave or anything, but still fun to see in real life.
