When I was a kid, one of my favorite things was to get the comics section of the newspaper and use my Silly Putty on it. Just in case you have no idea what Silly Putty is, it's almost like gum except, you don't eat it, you play with it. Mashing it on a colorful newspaper or magazine will imprint whatever you stick it on. This kept me busy for hours.Silly Putty was invented back in 1950 -- the patent for Silly Putty has long been in dispute. It goes back to even before 1950. But no matter who actually invented it, it was one of my fondest memories as a little kid.

The things you can do with it are endless (see video above), but kids nowadays have no idea what Silly Putty even is. In fact, I haven't been able to find this rubbery toy since I moved to the Yakima Valley.
