Check Out The Mayor of This Alaska City! It’s a Cat!

There's a small town in Alaska named Talkeetna, the population is only 900, but the town's Mayor is a cat!  The feline's name is 'Stubbs' (because it's tail is missing, down to a stubb).

Stubbs became Mayor 15 years ago when he won his seat by winning the majority of WRITE IN votes.  Apparently, no one really liked the candidates who were actually running for Mayor,  so someone led a campaign to get this cat elected!

The locals love him because he is a good listener and never breaks campaign promises.  Tourism is also UP in this small town with people dropping in to PET the Mayor!
