Nobody dominated at last night's "CMT Music Awards" . . . although CARRIE UNDERWOOD did take home two buckles . . . including Video of the Year for "Good Girl".

And the forced pairing of TOBY KEITH and KRISTEN BELL as co-hosts didn't cut it, but only because Toby looked bored.  Kristen, on the other hand, was funny, and actually did better when she was on her own.

As usual, they did a video opening.  This one included Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Bon Jovi, President Obama, Mitt Romney . . . and Willie Nelson.  Funny, but a little long.

The show didn't really kick into gear until LUKE BRYAN tore through "Drunk on You".  That dude LOVES performing, or at least it looks like he does.

There was a lot of talk that HANK WILLIAMS JR. would be honoring his father.  That happened when he brought out BRAD PAISLEY and they introduced Jr.'s new song, "I'm Gonna Get Drunk and Play Hank Williams".

Normally, I go on about Carrie Underwood's fabulous legs, but this year my favorite distraction was SHAWNA THOMPSON of THOMPSON SQUARE and her navel-to-the-neck skin show.  (Pic Below)

Does every awards show have to have one completely unexplained moment?  Last night it was DENISE RICHARDS introducing THE BAND PERRY.  Why?

And props to JASON ALDEAN, who won Performance of the Year for "Tattoos on this Town".  It was his first CMT buckle and he earned it.

We were all looking forward to Willie Nelson doing his song "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die".  It was toasty.  He was joined by Jamey Johnson, Darius Rucker, Zac Brown, Toby Keith . . . and billowing puffs of smoke from the stage.

MIRANDA LAMBERT touched everyone with her acceptance speech for Female Video of the Year for "Over You".  She thanked "Richie, up there in heaven."  Richie is BLAKE SHELTON'S brother who died in a car accident and is the song's inspiration.

And then there was the big show closer featuring RASCAL FLATTS and JOURNEY doing "Don't Stop Believing".  Am I the only one tired of that song?
