The loss of a child is likely the hardest thing that anyone could go through in life, and it's something that Craig Morgan, sadly, knows about. His son, Jerry Greer, died in a boating accident on July 10, 2016, and his 21st birthday would have been on Jan. 24.

Morgan posted a tribute on Facebook, noting a Bible verse: “Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.”

He also added, "Everyday is tough but some Are tougher. It’s your birthday. We will remain strong in our faith and pray God is glorified. I will see you again son."

Morgan also used the occasion of his son's birthday to announce a special project: A new TV series, Morgan Family Strong, that will follow the journey of his family: wife Karen, daughter Alexandra, and sons Kyle and Wyatt—as they cope with the pain of losing Jerry as well as launch their family’s passion project, Morgan Farms, a farmer's market located in Dickson, Tenn.

Jerry lost his life in an accident that took place while he was tubing behind a boat on Kentucky Lake, in the next county over from his family's home in Tennessee. The 19-year-old disappeared into the water and never resurfaced. His body was recovered the next day, and his cause of death was ruled an accidental drowning.
