GameStop has been in the news a few times in the past few years but this time, instead of giving your money to them for the latest video games, there's a chance they owe you some money in return.

KION reports there's a class action settlement you may apply for if you meet the criteria.

What's the lawsuit about GameStop?

There's something in place called the Video Privacy Protection Act that was violated by GameStop.

Under Alejandro Aldana and Scott Gallie v. GameStop, Inc., you may receive compensation under a class action settlement.

The Video Privacy Protection Act was violated when GameStop shared customer information to Facebook via Facebook Tracking Pixel.
The problem was this was done without consent.

Do you qualify for making a claim with GameStop?

If you purchased something from GameStop's website in the past 5 years, you may qualify. It doesn't hurt to try.

How to make a claim with GameStop

Easy enough, fill out the information at the Aldana v. GameStop page. You may do it online as well by submitting your info to this address.

How much of a settlement will you get back?

It's not much.

Like, $5 cash.

Again, not much.

There is an option for a $10 GameStop voucher to help purchase something on their website. That's worth a little more and can help you place your next order. Again, it's no much, but it's better than nothing.

Fill out the claim and see what happens.
