I'm always fascinated by other reporters and websites that list the best this or best that of every applicable thing. Best hospital in each state, best golf course in each state. Some just look at yelp reviews to determine their lists, some actually have people write for them from each state...

If you're me, you just look at what others say and either become so intrigued that you need to see it for yourself or complain about it.

This is definitely the latter of the two.

I do like the website Love Food because me, as the website implies, I do love food and they do have great lists of food-related topics.

This one, however. It's as if they didn't have anyone from Yakima or have any of their bloggers visit the Yakima Valley when talking about the best Mexican restaurant.

If it's the best in Washington State, then certainly you'd need to explore more than just Seattle but, once again, the 'best' comes from a place in Seattle.

Not knocking the one they chose, I'm sure it's amazing as I'm always in the mood for Mexican food, but they should have shown some love to our friends here in the valley.

What is the best Mexican restaurant in Washington State?

Love Food gave it up for Fogón Cocina Mexicana in Seattle.

Again, I'm sure it's great and the food does look amazing, but we have some of the best Mexican food right here in the Yakima Valley with spots in Yakima, Toppenish, Prosser and a lot more.

A shame, but I guess that's what happens when you have your own food website.
