When Five Guys opened its doors in Yakima back in July of 2017, people were happy to see this famous burger and fry chain come to Yakima.

Giant burgers, locally-sourced potatoes for the fries, people rave over their milkshakes. There's always plenty of reason to visit Five Guys.

It came as a shock to many to see that Five Guys suddenly closed.

Permanently, according to the sign they posted.

Permanently Closed

If you stop by the Five Guys in Yakima, there's a sign on the door that says:

This Location is
Permanently
Closed

No warnings.
No going away party.
No previous announcements.
Certainly no 'going out of business' sale.

It was open and active one day.
The next, closed with a note on the door.

This closure was already updated on Google as well as the official Five Guys website having removed Yakima from the list.

This type of behavior isn't the first time Yakima has seen this. This also recently happened to Pep Boys, Taco Time locations around Yakima, there was a recent Starbucks that closed without notice and, going back to the early 2000s, I remember when Video Update did this as well.

Five Guys Closure is Just Yakima

So far, it seems like the Yakima location is the only one effected by this. The Five Guys in Tri-Cities is still open so it doesn't seem to be a nationwide closer or anything like that.

So far, at least.

There have been some other Five Guys closing including some in California so it could be anything.
