I Love that SeaTac Airport Still Has a Bookstore in Elliot Bay Book Company
We're fortunate that the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport still has a book store.
I was thinking about flying and what it was like several years ago. One of my first flights I remember had the option to listen to basically the radio by plugging in your headphones into your seat. The seat pocket would always have a sponsored magazine with enough articles to maybe tide you over for a quick flight but not much farther than that. And, on those long flights, they might have an in-flight movie. No, you didn't get to choose, they would just say 'here's the movie' and show it on a large screen in our cabin and would time it so when the movie ended it would be about time to land. That aside you were stuck with something like reading a book.
Well, believe it or not, many people still prefer the printed page over screentime. I don't blame them as you never have to worry about a book running out of battery, you can pause anytime, you don't need to put it away in take-off or landing, when in doubt, grab a book.
And if you forgot a book and happen to be at SeaTac in terminal C they have Elliot Bay Book Company with several new options and, I'm sure, some classics for reading material.
A recent best seller or joke book or, my personal favorite, those Uncle John's Bathroom Readers are always a hit.
Yes, I come with all the tech from my phone to my Nintendo Switch when I travel but it's nice to see book stores like this still exist.
