It was just a matter of time before hackers turned their attention towards app games and now "Words With Friends" with an estimated 218 million users has been hacked.

According to reports, the hackers gained access to this information:

  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Login IDs
  • Hashed and salted passwords (encrypted)
  • Phone numbers, where provided
  • Password reset tokens, if one had ever been requested
  • Facebook IDs, if connected to the social media platform
  • Zynga account ID

The company that owns "Words With Friends" Zynga doesn't believe any financial information was stolen and the company hasn't made an official statement on how many accounts were hacked

If you are in doubt on your own account, at the very least you should reset your password.
