Yakima Valley Tourism officials are gearing up for an action-packed summer filled with festivals, music, wine, and cultural events.
JUNE IS KICKING OFF WITH FUN ON THE RIVER
With the region's signature sunny weather, visitors and residents can enjoy a fun lineup of activities all season long. Kicking off the festivities, Red’s Fly Shop will host one of the region’s premier fishing events on Saturday, May 30. Anglers of all levels can be a part of riverside clinics, seminars, competitions, and family-friendly activities. Special sessions will be dedicated to kids and women’s clinics making the event accessible and fun for everyone.

READY FOR SOME TIME IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH SOME GREAT MUSIC
As summer progresses, Chinook Fest from June 18-21 will bring mountain music to the great outdoors, featuring bands like Them Dirty Roses and The Brudi Brothers. You can enjoy the scenic backdrop of the Cascade Mountain foothills along the Naches River, with options for glamping tents, car and tent sites, VIP tables, and a weekend full of live performances and activities.
EVER BEEN TO THE SCOTTISH FEST AND HIGHLAND GAMES?
On June 20, Prosser hosts its annual Scottish Fest and Highland Games, celebrating Scottish heritage with traditional music, dancing, and athletic competitions. Just a day later, the Prosser Wine Music Festival runs from June 19-21, offering live performances at over 20 local wineries—perfect for wine lovers and music lovers.
YOUR CHANCE TO ENJOY A LOOK AT HISTORY OR FIFA WORLD CUP SOCCER
History buffs can step back in time during Old Town Days on June 20-21, which features pioneer reenactments and demonstrations at the Central Washington Agricultural Museum. Sports fans won’t want to miss FIFA World Cup™ watch parties at Sozo Sports Complex on June 18, 19, 24, and 25. Big crowds are expected because of the popularity of soccer in the Yakima valley.
HOW ABOUT A BEER OR A GLASS OF WINE?
Craft beer aficionados can enjoy the Sunnyside Summer Ale Fest on June 27, celebrating the region’s hop culture. The excitement continues with the Rosé Revolution from June 27-29, showcasing the best rosés from local wineries. For a splash of fun, the Dye Hard 5K Color Run on June 27 invites everyone to experience a vibrant, fluorescent nighttime race through the city.
