GOOD NEWS FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says the national average is nearly unchanged from a week ago "with gasoline prices hovering in the low-$3 range as oil prices stay in the $60s.” He says price fluctuations are driven by regional cycling markets, with Ohio and Florida seeing increases last week, and Michigan experiencing a drop that could lead to another jump soon. As for the upcoming Labor Day weekend? De Haan says prices will stay steady near current levels. "However, a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine could impact oil prices—if sanctions are eased, global oil supply might increase, possibly lowering gas prices further.”
