It's being called tipping mania and it's making people mad all around the valley and the country. People usually tip without any question at restaurants and coffee shops and you may tip for some specific services.

But it's likely you've been asked to tip in some unusual spots like the hardware or the phone store. Who are you tipping if it's at a large box warehouse? Or the grocery store?
If you've been puzzled as to why you're being asked to tip at the pet food store you're not alone. Millions of people are getting fed up with the tipping ask. It's no doubt being pushed by a digital world in which everyone uses digital payment technology.
SOME BUSINESSES HAVE CANCELLED TIPPING
So what's the answer for businesses concerned that people are getting upset with everyone asking about tips? Some businesses in the state have stopped asking for a tip and have cancelled tips altogether. In place of tips employers are paying employees more to avoid making customers mad.

Some restaurants are applying a 20% surcharge on final bills which is basically a required tip. While others are raising prices and cancelling tips.
A recent story in The Seattle Times says people have been asked to tip in some odd places including while signing mortgage papers, at the drugstore and while giving political donations.
