If you're filling the tank this week you're pumping cheaper gas than last week when prices were down almost 7 cents a gallon in Yakima.

PRICES DOWN ALMOST 7 PENNIES A GALLON LAST WEEK AND THIS WEEK ANOTHER DROP

Officials at GasBuddy say average gasoline prices in Yakima have fallen 4.0 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.61 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Yakima was priced at $3.03 per gallon yesterday while the most expensive was $4.49 per gallon, a difference of $1.46 per gallon.

WHILE YAKIMA PRICES ARE DOWN THE NATIONAL PRICE IS UP THIS WEEK

The national average price of gasoline has risen 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.12 per gallon. The national average is up 4.0 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 32.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations across the country.

POLICE ARE HOPING YOU'LL SLOW DOWN TO SAVE LIVES AND GAS

It doesn't take an expert to know that if you slow down you'll save gas. It's something Yakima Police are hoping you'll do. As speed emphasis patrols continue Yakima police are asking drivers to slow down and watch for drivers running red lights but police say the problem continues this year.

THE NUMBERS HAVE BEEN CONSISTENT FOR YEARS

During the week of January 21 through January 27 Officers made a total of 912 traffic stops and issued 351 citations. They also investigated 18 collisions with 6 the result of what the city says are "red light violations."
