UPDATE

Yakima Police have arrested a driver they say was responsible for a crash that injured two teens at South Fair Avenue and East Spruce Street on Tuesday. At the time of the crash on Tuesday night police say the driver stopped and talked to the teens but then drove away. The two teens were taken to a Yakima hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses of the crash took pictures and that helped police identify the driver as a 62-year-old Yakima man. The man was arrested on Thursday and is now facing charges of felony hit-and-run charges in connection to the crash. The driver's name hasn't been released.

A 35-year-old woman is being treated for a severe head injury after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Lincoln Ave and North Naches Wednesday night.

THE VICTIM WAS FOUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

Officers were called to the area at 5:45 pm where they found the victim with a severe head injury lying in the middle of the roadway. Medics rushed her to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital she was then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further treatment. We don't know her condition today.

THE DRIVER COOPERATED WITH POLICE

A press release from the Yakima Police Department says the initial investigation shows the driver of a Lexus GS was driving west East Lincoln when the victim entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle resulting in a severe head injury. Authorities say the driver, a 23-year-old man, stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigation. They say neither speed or intoxicants appear to be factors in the case.

ANOTHER CRASH REPORTED ON TUESDAY

Yakima Police are searching for a 62-year-old driver after they say he struck two people near the intersection of S Fair Ave and E Spruce St on Tuesday. Officers say the driver stopped and talked to the two teenagers who were struck but he then drove off. A press release from the Yakima Police Department says two teens were crossing the street near the intersection when they were hit by a 1998 Dodge Caravan traveling southbound on S Fair Ave.

WITNESSES TOOK PICTURES

Witnesses stopped to check on the two victims and police say the witnesses took pictures of the suspect vehicle as the driver fled. Police were able to identify the driver as a 62-year-old man from Yakima. Police are searching for the driver who they say faces felony hit-and-run charges.

JUVENILES WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL

Both juveniles were transported to Multi-Care Memorial Hospital with non-life-threating injuries.
