What Online Stores Really Show You When You Search 'Yakima'

What do you find when you search for "Yakima" on major shopping sights? This is the answer I will share below because I fell down this rabbit hole, just so you don't have to.

If you have no idea what I mean by "rabbit hole", in a nutshell, it's where you're searching for one thing on the internet, and then one thing leads to another, which leads to another, and the next thing you know, it's 3 am in the morning, and you're regretting most of your decisions in life.

That is what happened to me when I started searching random cities in Washington. For this article, I'm focusing on Yakima.

What Was Found Searching For 'Yakima' On Amazon

I really didn't know what to expect, but it certainly wasn't car and truck mounts for bicycles.

A vast majority of the first page of Amazon was dedicated to different design mountings to securely transport a bicycle on the back or top of your vehicle, as well as hard shell cargo boxes. When you look at "The Yakima Store" on Amazon, you're welcomed to this quote:

"For more than 40 years, we've been giving adventurers the gear they need to live the journey."

Nowhere does it mention "The Palm Springs of Washington". I wonder if they know.

What Was Found Searching For 'Yakima' on eBay

The home of what seems like the world's greatest yard sale (aka eBay) was also focused on bike mounts for trucks and cars as well, but "Genuine Yakima SKS Locks" and lock cores were also pretty heavy on the first couple of pages on eBay.

What Was Found Searching for 'Yakima' on Wayfair

Thanks to Kelly Clackson, Wayfair is now on my radar of where to find stuff, especially for the home. And while they still had Yakima brand truck and car mounts for bicycles, Wayfair seemed to push portable pressurized Water storage/showers, roof-mounted awnings, and cargo containers.

What Was Found Searching for 'Yakima' on Temu

Ah, Temu, the fun App where I said, here's my money, surprise me, and the next thing I know, I own a Caucasian Tupac Shakur full-head mask. Weird. When I searched for Yakima, outside adventure mounting equipment was not what first popped up. Instead, it was several copies of the book "Images of America: Yakima, Washington" by Elizabeth Gibson.

What Was Found Searching for 'Yakima' on Etsy

Do you have an Etsy shop? Well, if you're looking for something more down-home, this might be the place for you. Searching for Yakima, I at first got several variations of throw pillows, then the Etsy Ads were offering T-shirts, stickers, and posters with the Palm Springs slogan.
