You can get the traditional gifts for Valentine’s Day, you know: flowers and candy. But let’s face it, that’s just sending the wrong message to your loved one. The flowers say, “you smell good, but you’re going to die soon” and the chocolates say, “I love you, but you need to be sweeter to me.” Is that really the message you want to send? Confusion on their odor and encouragement for weight gain? Of course it’s not. Get something handmade, from the heart!

There are plenty of Craft Fairs and Holiday Bazaars happening in the upcoming weeks. Just in time to buy something from a great local vendor, and pass it off to your loved one as if you made it. (Trust me, the vendors don’t mind).

The Valentine’s Day & Pre-Spring Bazaar at the Selah Civic Center is coming up! Taking place on Saturday, February 4th, from 9 am to 3 pm, expect the goods you know and love from craft fairs & bazaars!

The Cupid Pop-Up Market is also happening on Saturday, February 4th. This one will be going on from 10 am until 4 pm in Sunnyside at the HMS Gymnasium (810 S. 16th Street). It’s being presented by the Harrison Middle School Technology Student Association and is a TSA Community Service Project with Rod’s House. Donations are welcome. For what they could use, click here.
Ever wonder how those sparkle tumblers are made? Well, Tieton Cider Works is ready to teach you with Snowglobes & Sips: Date Night Edition. This is taking place on Saturday, February 4th from 6 pm till 9 pm. More information can be found here.

Not quite a Bazaar, but something crafty! Valentine Peat Pot Basket at Farmgirl Pickings will be happening on February 10th, from 11:30 am till 1:30 pm. You’ll be able to create your own make and take Valentine Basket! Click here for more details!

In the mode of making your Valentine’s Day gift, or even a date night project, check out Sweethearts Candle Workshop at The Tap from 5 pm till 7 pm on Saturday, February 11th. Click here for more information.

Later on this month you can check out The Market Card & Collectible Show. This is a craft/vendor show for the nerdier at heart. They have all kinds of collectables from sports to comics to video games and Funko Pops, etc. Check this out on February 25th from 10 am till 4 pm at North Town Coffeehouse at 32 N. Front St. in Yakima.

How Can I Join The "Crafting Community"?

If you’re wondering where to go for upcoming bazaars or how to even get into the “crafting game”, check out the local Facebook group called “Yakima Valley Bazaar & Craft Shows". So far, the community of vendors and people who just love to find beautifully handmade treasures have helped fill the calendar for all your holiday shopping needs!
